Implants, also known as screw-in teeth or fixture, are artificial tooth roots, usually made of titanium or its alloys, placed inside the jawbone to replace missing teeth.
The patient is evaluated in terms of systemic health and bone quality/quantity.
Implantation is risky for some patient groups. In certain cases, treatment can be performed by consulting the patient’s medical doctor and taking some precautions.
Bone quality/quantity is evaluated with 3D tomographs. In the presence of insufficient bone, implant placement is possible with the addition of bone graft (bone powder).
Today, it is a simple and painless procedure. The application area is numbed with local anesthesia. A slot suitable for the implant is prepared in the bone and the screw is placed. Stitches are placed and the healing period is expected.
The healing period varies according to the patient’s health status, bone structure and the operation performed.
With the development of implant technology, it is now possible to place implants and finish the prosthesis in one day in many patients.
There are many implant brands available today. As a dental implant brand, it is beneficial to use systems that have proven their success in the long term and offer sufficient choice for technical support and prosthetic superstructure. More than 150 different brands of implants are sold in Turkey, both local and foreign, but very few of them are reliable and of high quality.
In our clinic, we prefer only proven brands with worldwide reliability.
It is a complicated method applied in completely edentulous jaws. In complete edentulous cases, it is emphasized that at least 6-8 artificial roots should be placed in classical implantology, but in jaws with insufficient bone volume or in the presence of anatomical variants such as sinus and mandibular canal, sinus elevation and similar advanced surgical methods are required to place 8 implants. After advanced surgery, the healing time is prolonged and the risk of complications increases and the patient remains toothless for about 6-7 months during the healing period. All on four method has been developed to eliminate the disadvantages of the classical method. In this method, only 4 artificial roots are made and the patient’s prosthesis is attached within 24 hours. In the All On 4 method, there is no need for sinus lift and similar advanced surgical methods, implants are placed at different angles to avoid anatomical difficulties, the prosthesis impression is taken immediately and temporary teeth are inserted within 24 hours. When the augmentation period is completed, the patient’s permanent prosthesis is made. The biggest advantage of this method is that the patient does not remain toothless. In Denttera dental clinic, the most preferred method for complete edentulous jaws is the All on four method.

After the implant is placed in the jawbone, it must be osteointegrated with the jawbone, in other words, it must fuse with the bone in order to make a permanent prosthesis on it. This time depends on many factors such as the surgical method, the structure of the implant and the quality of the jawbone. However, the most important factor determining the time for the implant to fuse with the bone depends on the design and surface structure of the implant. Many implants have an SLA surface, this type of artificial roots take at least 3 months to fuse with the bone, so you need to wait at least 3 months to make your permanent porcelain tooth or prosthesis on it. Implants with SLActive surface take 3 weeks to fuse with the bone. In other words, impressions can be taken for prosthesis 3 weeks after the surgical procedure. Straumann SLActive is the most preferred brand in our Denttera Dental Clinic.
The cost of implant treatment varies according to the brand of implant used. Today, depending on the increasing number of brands, there are also reliable and economical options. The brand of the implant, the superstructure, the type of prosthesis, the condition of the bone and many similar factors directly affect the implant fees. The prices you receive over the phone or social media without being examined by a physician are misleading. For this reason, we cannot give clear information about implant fees over the phone. Implant pre-examination is free of charge in our Ankara Denttera Clinic. If you want to be examined free of charge, you can contact us on 0312 466 75 99.
